We have two vehicle types- our low speed Vehicle(LSV), are in production and highway capable vehicles are under development. The LSV vehicles are cars, trucks, and vans optimized and built to be all-electric.
LSV’s fall under a federal classification of vehicles called Low-Speed Electric Vehicles (LEVs), which can be cars or trucks. They meet all federal safety requirements for a low speed vehicle and can be operated on streets with speed limits up to 35 mph. LSV’s are based upon the micro car and truck technology that’s been proven on the streets of Europe for well over a decade.
GGT LSV’s are approved to drive up to 25 miles per hour by the federal government.
GGT low speed electrics can be driven in the U.S.A. on public streets with posted speed limits of 35 mph or less in most states. Certain restrictions apply from state to state, however. Check with your Secretary of State or Department of Motor Vehicles for the specific guidelines for your state. Or email us and we’ll be happy to check for you.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Association has set strict standards for Urban and Low-Speed Electric Vehicles. The standards include a DOT safety glass windshield, turn signals, brake lights and DOT seat belts as well as DOT tires, among many other safety features. GGT’s Low Speed vehicles meet ALL NHTSA standards, as well as FMVSS 500 standards.
Our electric motors are powered by six to eight 12-volt AGM sealed batteries forming a 72-volt or 96-volt systems, with an auxiliary 12-volt battery to power options.
The distance and battery life depends on the model of vehicle, temperature, load carried and your personal driving habits, battery pack, and road conditions. Check out the individual product specs for our vehicles to see each car’s specific battery range.
To recharge, simply plug the power cord into any standard 110 volt outlet and you’re done. Just let it charge like any other household appliance.
4 hour charge = 80% battery life
8 hour charge = 100% battery life (10 hours for 96 volts)
