GGT Electric is bringing some Detroit-style horsepower back to the electric vehicle industry in 2012 with the introduction of the new GGT 4-Door Scout All-Electric Pickup Truck. The big news is that the 2012 Scout Pickup has a robust new 96 volt/50 Horsepower power train, making it one of the most powerful all electric pickup trucks in its class.

In addition to the extra power under its hood, the 2012 Scout Pickup also features a stylish, convenient new 4-door, 5-seat crew-cab design and an impressive flatbed.

GGT has also outfitted the 2012 Scout Pickup with a brand-new electric heater system, the first in its kind in the electric truck industry. While past interior heating designs drained batteries and struggled to warm the whole vehicle, the 2012 Scout’s heater works easily and efficiently without severely impacting battery life.

Our most powerful electric truck yet

GGT’s Scout line of all-electric, zero emission trucks have a legacy of excellence – the 2011 Scout Pickup was named “Best in Show” at the 2011 Michigan Electric Vehicle Show, the largest electric vehicle show in the Midwest. The 2012 4-Door Scout keeps up this tradition by continuing to innovate, offering customers an ideal, cost-efficient electric truck that’s perfect for fleet or commercial use.

“We could not be prouder of our 2012 4-Door Scout Pickup,” says Ray Leduc, CEO of GGT Electric. “GGT is dedicated to continually improving and expanding upon our electric vehicle offerings to make sure that our customers can find exactly the right kind of electric vehicle that meets their needs. As the electric truck market continues to expand, we think that our 2012 4-Door Scout Pickup will be recognized as a workhorse staple in vehicle fleets across the globe. This is simply one of the best electric trucks on the market today.”

As electric vehicles (EVs) continue to become more commonplace for home, fleet, and commercial use, prospective buyers of vehicles from GGT Electric (GreenGoTek) just got another attractive reason to go all electric – each vehicle now qualifies for a tax credit from the U.S. Government.

Buying this all-electric, zero emission truck can now get you a $2,500 tax credit!

Seven of GGT’s all-electric, zero-emission trucks, cars, and vans have been certified to claim the qualified plug-in electric vehicle credit under Internal Revenue Code Section 30. This means that, upon purchase, buyers of these vehicles can claim a tax credit for their new EV that is “equal to 10 percent of the cost of the qualified plug-in electric vehicles placed in service during the tax year, not to exceed $2,500.00.”

In layman’s terms, that means that, after purchasing a GGT electric vehicle for personal or fleet use, you are eligible to get a tax credit up to $2,500 per vehicle, which is both an affirmation of the value that the U.S. Government places on the burgeoning electric vehicle industry and a significant savings that makes its way directly back in your wallet.

“We’re very grateful to the Department of the Treasury for certifying our vehicles for the plug-in credit,” said Ray Leduc, CEO of GGT Electric. “We have always believed that electric vehicles were the most economical choice for personal and commercial buyers, due to their independence from foreign oil concerns and their amazing two-cents-per-mile cost to operate. But, with this $2,500 tax credit, that message just got even more compelling. There is no question now that, like no other car or truck out there, electric vehicles can save you money.”

The seven GGT vehicles approved for the plug-in credit are the GGT E-Dyne Electric Van, the E-Dyne Electric Truck, the Scout 72-volt Electric Van, the Scout 98-volt Electric Van, the Scout 72-volt Electric Truck, the Scout 98-volt Electric Truck, and the Cozmo electric car.

It was extremely cool to get a chance to show the Fox 2 team what kinds of electric vehicles are being built in their own backyard and to be able to talk about our recent wins at the Michigan Electric Vehicle Show. The anchors definitely got a kick out of getting to drive the vehicles. They couldn’t believe a). how quiet they are and b). how cheap they are to run (2 cents per mile).

All in all, it was a great way to start our day. Click here or on the photo to see the full video from the segment!

GGT Electric is based on Milford, Michigan, and we’re extremely lucky to live in a community that is so forward-thinking and has such similar values to our own. Milford is one of the greenest cities in the state and, with their recent addition of new EV charging stations in its beautiful downtown, we thought the city government might like to see for themselves how beneficial going all-electric can be.

Milford, GGT Electric’s hometown, will trial the E-Dyne electric truck for three months

For Immediate Release

July 7, 2011 – Milford, MI – While the growing popularity of electric vehicles continues to sweep across the globe, with more and more fleets going all-electric and major auto manufacturers working on EVs and electric hybrids, it’s important to recognize that many local communities are also doing their part to go green and embrace zero-emission vehicles. One such community is Milford, Michigan, a village 40 miles outside of Detroit.

Milford has recently embraced several major initiatives to help “green” their community, most notably, partnering with General Motors to install six electric car charging stations by the end of July. The 220-volt charging stations can recharge an electric vehicle in two to three hours.

Milford is also the hometown of GGT Electric (GreenGoTek), an electric car and truck manufacturer, which recently won “best in show” at the 3rd Annual Michigan Electric Vehicle Show.

To support their local community’s efforts to foster the use of electric vehicles (EVs), GGT Electric has donated one of its E-Dyne electric trucks to the city of Milford to trial, at no cost, for the next three months. The E-Dyne truck is a 96-volt model that is ideal for fleet or commercial use.

“We’re extremely proud of Milford for investing in the infrastructure to support more widespread use of electric vehicles,” said Ray Leduc, CEO of GGT Electric. “With the charging stations in place, we wanted to give the city government a chance to try out an electric truck for themselves, so they could see what a lasting, positive impact these vehicles can have on the environment and the local community.”

Leduc presented the keys to the E-Dyne truck to Becky Jacques, Finance Director for the village of Milford, and Robert Calley, Milford’s Director of Public Service, on July 6th. According to Calley, the truck will be used the city’s ordinance officers. “If it works, we are looking to purchase one,” said Calley. “I’m open for anything to cut down on fuel consumption.”

This is such fun news to post… we had a blast at the 3rd Annual Michigan Electric Vehicle Show and walked away with some very big honors.

***

GGT Electric Truck Wins “Best in Show” at Midwest’s Largest Electric Vehicle Show, Beating the Chevy Volt and Other Competitors

Detroit-area electric car and truck manufacturer wins three major awards at the 3rd Annual Michigan Electric Vehicle Show & Rally, including best in show and most creative EV

For Immediate Release

June 20, 2011 – Livonia, MI – As the largest electric vehicle show east of the Mississippi drew to a close and the best of show awards were presented, the big winners of the night were GGT Electric (GreenGoTek) and their brand-new 2011 Scout Pickup Truck.

GGT’s all-electric, zero-emission pickup truck won three major awards at the 3rd Annual Michigan Electric Vehicle Show & Rally on June 11, including best four-wheel production EV, most creative electric vehicle, and the coveted “best in show” award.

Our Scout Pickup was the big winner of the show.

The new Scout Pickup faced stiff competition at the Michigan Electric Auto Association’s (MEAA) third annual electric vehicle (EV) show, facing off against such well-known vehicles as the Chevy Volt and the Toyota Prius, new vehicles from up-and-coming hybrid/EV manufacturers like Bright Automotive and EcoV Electric, and various other electric conversions.

But, in the end, GGT Electric’s Scout Pickup walked away with three of the evening’s six awards, including “best in show”. The 2011 Scout Pickup produces zero emissions, comes in 72 or 96 volt power options, and is ideal for fleet or commercial use.

“We were completely knocked out by the response we got at the Michigan Electric Vehicle Show,” says Ray Leduc, CEO of GGT Electric. “It was an amazing experience to be able to show the organizers and the attendees how functional and rugged an all-electric truck can be – to have that personal interaction with them. And then to have that experience validated by winning best of show and most creative vehicle. What a great night! It was wonderful to see the EV community embrace a manufacturer that maybe doesn’t have the corporate reach of Chevy or Toyota, but that is just as committed to delivering well-built, affordable, eco-friendly electric vehicles.”

GGT Electric is a leader in the international fleet greening movement, having previous supplied its all-electric vehicles to such diverse sources as the state of South Carolina, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the U.S. Veterans Administration, Virginia Tech University, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Grand Canyon National Park, the University of Memphis, and the U.S. Forestry Service, among others.

We want YOU – the big “you, the royal “you” – to get to know us.

We want you to know who GGT Electric is. We want to share with you our perspective on the electric vehicle market. (We think it has limitless potential.) We want to tell you about our customers, the businesses, universities, governments, and other agencies that are really embracing the philosophy of greening their fleets. We want you to tell you about what we’re doing, where we’re going, what we’ve got on the horizon. We want to share with you pictures, videos, news links, and first-person accounts of our vehicles, because we’re extremely proud of what we’re doing here.

So, keep an eye on this space and, in the coming days, weeks, and months, this blog will become the vehicle – an all-electric, zero emission vehicle, of course – for our ongoing conversation with our community, a community that we’re really hoping you’ll be a part of.
